My sub box is a great box and is small, but I didn't like the look of it. I decided a new front facia on it to full out the back end would look a lot better. I just took some cardboard and fabbed up the template. Then it was as simple as transferring the template to wood. We didn't need to use MDF for the sub box facia, the box itself is already MDF.

Here is a rear shot of the box- you can see the box is not as wide as the facia, but we will still get the ugly gaps taken care of and a smoother appearance.

Next we wrapped it in the black carpet. we cut it to size and got en electric stapler. We used 3M glue and first glued it and let it sit for 30 seconds or more for the best bond (as per the instructions), then we stretched the carpet over the corners and folds the best we could, finishing it up with multiple staples to hold it all together.

Installation is pretty straight forward from there. Here's some pictures to show how it all happened. You can click on any photo to bring it up larger.
